Touches the Soul

These inspirational instrumentals of some classic and favourite melodies are arranged by David to bring their essence to the listener.

Included in this medley of greats are Ave Maria, a moving rendition of this perennial sacred offering. Amazing Grace, the classic song of praise. The orchestration touches the heart as well as the soul.

The Prayer of St Francis of Assisi is given a soft and gentle rendition in Make me a channel of your Peace with Fauré's Pie Jesu opening with a gentle piano and leading into the orchestral uplift toward a flute lifting us softly upwards.

Let there be Peace on Earth is an imprecation of hope and fulfilment toward the higher instincts of human kind. Again the flute, like a gentle hand guides us to believe in our highest hope and aspiration.

Satie's Gymnopedie No1 finds piano and flute accompaniment beautifully counterposed in this favourite piece.

Along with Schubert's Ave Maria, Greensleeves and other favourites, this is an album that can be put on continual play and never seem anything but fresh, uplifting and beautiful.
