G.S. Sachdev - Master of the Bansuri Indian Flute
The Bansuri flute is reputedly a most difficult instrument to master. Its haunting and exquisite sounds touch eternity.
G.S. Sachdev is one of the very few to have mastered this instrument of the gods.
Sachdev began playing the Indian Bamboo flute when he was 14 and over the years he has developed the gift of being able to communicate instantly with his audiences through his music.
Ravi Shankar:
"I admire his ability to touch the spirit of the raga he performs and also to move the listeners emotionally with his pure and classical approach."
Unlike many other musicians who have made fusion the main focus of their talents, Sachdev finds that he gains great pleasure and a sense of immense satisfaction by staying within the demands and rigours that classical Indian music creates.
His music has that magical effect of dissolving tension, stress fatigue and negative thought patterns. It takes the listener into a space where worries and cares are dissolved and a sense of well being and calm are able to be nurtured.
