This new album from Miten is his first for six years and arguably his best ever. In its sensitivity, feeling and breadth it is magnificent.
The opening track, So much magnificence, is a rising swell of thanks and adoration to Beauty, the Great Mother. For those who have experienced this being sung by an audience and led by Miten in concert, the potent chant has been experienced. However just listening to the song on CD brings goose bumps of energy and the 'live' potentcy is in no way lost on the listener. It swells and draws you into its limitless ocean.
This album has Miten writing from a space of love and compassion - for himself which is as he says "..the only place to start."
Second chance is one of the songs that bring hope, upliftment and belief that will surely help all who doubt their ability to try again - and try again with passion and loving kindness!
The partnership of Miten and Deva Premal is a love match that heaven only could have contrived and to witness their utter compatibility not only in person but in their music is joy beyond expectation.
As Miten tells us - ".. I woke up one morning, turned over and looked at the girl sleeping beside me. She looked so pure, so beautiful...I remember having a revelation at that moment: How did I get so lucky...? How come god is taking such care of me...I mean, beautiful and pure would've been enough...but a natural harmony singer too...?? That was too much. It was at that point when I knew there was a god.
The track Till I was loved by you is an inspiration to us all to seek the seemingly impossible that is so possible within each of our experiences of love.
The message is clear - Open your heart and your life opens
The devotion written into each and every note of these songs, as always, is watermarked. It is a challenge not to be moved deeply by this extraordinary album of Miten's
A review by Joel Davis, White Swan Music :
On his first release in six years, Miten delivers a heartfelt musical testament to the redeeming power of self-acceptance. Graced by Deva Premal's vocal harmonies, Miten's songs take flight, senselessly blending male/female energy to reveal the healing balance that comes through true connection with the self."
