I have been doing Yoga for many years and thought it was about time I invested in a proper bag. It is a gorgeous purple with bands of delicate flowers decorating it. Many people have commented on how lovely the bag is. I walk to class so it is practical and easy to carry especially when doing shopping. I love the fact that the bag is unique to me. My own special bag.

A brief story from Nancy Barker
I always wore the latest fashions as I would copy designs by cutting up old clothes, often brought from jumble sales, and making them into the latest designs.
My first pair of hot pants were made from an old suede coat of mine. It always gave me a lot of satisfaction as I knew I was wearing an original design.
I have always sewn, making my first dress at five years old. I can still see and feel the fabric in my mind, it was all hand sewn. The fabric was mauve satin. When I got a bit older my mother bought me a Singer second hand treadle sewing machine. I thought it was wonderful.
After leaving school I worked in a boutique making clothes which everyone loved, but I soon got restless and moved on I also worked for a bespoke tailor in Exeter doing finishing work on menswear. The tailor's workshop was like something out of a Dickens' novel, a large room full of old singer machines, like the one I had, high patchwork windows with the sun blazing though.
I have been doing Yoga for many years now, since my son, who is 26, was a baby. It keeps me supple and sane. It is a great way to relax and we all know how thepautic it is for the mind and body. I started making yoga mat bags after my sister, who is a Yoga teacher, could not find a suitable one after her bag spilt. I offered to make her one.
Because people that do Yoga are serious about exercise a good mat bag is a worthwhile investment that should last a long time if it is well made, like mine are, and treated with care.
