EMBRACE WAH!
Embrace Wah!
The CD titled EMBRACE is a collection of songs in English written about Ammachi, a saint from Southern India. Over the last 13 years, her example as a spiritually expanded being has been a great inspiration for me. I wanted to contribute something to her ongoing relief efforts for disaster victims (Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, etc) for which she has pledged over 23 million dollars. The proceeds from the sale of this CD will go directly to her efforts in this regard.
A compilation of songs in English written for the Divine Mother Ammachi over a period of 5 years. Includes four brand new tracks - Can You Save Me, Embrace, Tapasya, and Stay. Guitar, harmonium, Rhodes keyboard, bass, drums & percussion. Proceeds from the sale of this CD donated to Amma’s charities

EMBRACE WAH!
WAH!:
Wah! began her musical journey when she took a college course on raga; melodic modes used for Indian classical chant. This led to her exploration of classical, world, jazz and reggae music as well as the performing arts. Today her music draws from both current trends and ancient kirtan chants, creating upbeat interpretations infused with pop, reggae and folk melodies. If you have taken a yoga class in the last five years, you have no doubt heard her music and her indisputably unique, sultry voice. Captivating audiences around the world, Wah! performs more than 100 dates a year throughout Europe, North America, Japan and Australia, while her acclaimed solo albums include Jai Jai Jai and Savasana. With Love Holding Love, Wah! reinvents the genre of kirtan chant through her amazing synthesis of Sade-like chilled sounds blended with ancient traditional Sanskrit mantras. Her mesmerising, hypnotic voice creates a bridge between ancient, meditative tones towards the contemporary, ecstatic sound of western culture.
