This album of kirtan captures all the devotion, ecstasy and positive energy that comes with chanting.
The interpretation and delivery of these chants are very pleasing to the Western ear and are ably helped through the production values input by Rick Rubin, the rock and rap producer who did so much for Johnny Cash.
Two great tracks that epitomise this album are Kainchi Hare Krishna and Ma Durga. They brilliantly bring together the opposites of life's diverse journey in a melange that is the very stuff of living!
Krishna Das's voice, mesmeric and rich, so full of devotion, draws us into that place of the heart where we are encouraged to flourish and open to our own divinity.
As an adjunct to yoga practice and living, this album is deeply inspirational. Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of devotion is in every note of this exhilerating offering. It is the beauty of Krishna Das and his chanting that one can be constantly reminded of the beauty of life and uplifted when nedds arise.
A continuing example of his rich talents..
